Kim

Kim (Owner) grew up in Issaquah, WA. She started her fitness journey as a runner. It didn’t take long however, for Kim to fall in love with all types of physical conditioning and outdoor adventures. Her passion for health and fitness led her to Bastyr University. In June of 2014, Kim graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in ‘Nutrition and Exercise Science’. In addition to this, Kim is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She is also currently Group Exercise and Spin certified. She has experience leading all types of fitness classes such as Spin, Pilates and HIIT boot camps, just to name a few. Kim also has a specialized background in marathon running, which earned her 2nd place in the Seattle Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon in 2010.

 

Paul

Paul (Owner) grew up in North Bend, Washington spending much of his free time in the surrounding mountains hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding and more. After graduating from high school, Paul joined the U.S. Coast Guard and became a Helicopter Rescue Swimmer (Aviation Survival Technician). After seven years of service, he decided to pursue his love for fitness and adventure in the private sector. Upon his honorable separation, Paul became certified with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, returned home to Washington and began working as a Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor, while going to school. In June of 2013, Paul graduated from Bastyr University with a Bachelor’s degree in ‘Nutrition and Exercise Science’. Paul has over ten years in the health and fitness field with a wide range of experiences.

Sarah

Sarah is a North Bend, WA native. She grew up playing soccer, which sparked her love for being active. She has been with the BasePoint team since the beginning, starting as a member! Sarah’s love and dedication to the classes inspired her to earn her certification as a Group Fitness Instructor through the American Council on Exercise. With her years of experience and passion, she knows how to create awesome classes that will be absolutely fun and challenging!

Kristen

Kristen grew up right here in beautiful North Bend, WA. Her love of fitness came later in life, after deciding that she needed to make a change to better her health. She learned how to design a healthy diet, became more active through walking and hiking, and accomplished dropping 60 pounds in a year! Realizing that she wanted to do more, she joined a gym and worked with a personal trainer, which allowed her to lose an additional 60 pounds! Officially hooked, she knew that she wanted to share her passion of fitness with others. Kristen is a certified spin instructor and a certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise and is excited to help others reach their fitness goals!

Krystle

Krystle grew up in Fall City, Washington cultivating her passion for the outdoors from an early age. Growing up as a swimmer, Krystle quickly picked up a knack for instructing swim lessons and taught both children and adults for more than 13 years. It was through these lessons that her love for connecting with and coaching others in physical activity began. At the age of 18, Krystle completed her first triathlon which drove her to learn sport specific training methodologies and how to connect these into an overall high level fitness program. This wide array of training and her love for hiking and rock climbing even led Krystle and her husband to climb Mt. Baker in 2014. Her passion for the understanding of the human body and its amazing capabilities, steered Krystle to Bastyr University where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in ‘Integrated Human Biology’ in 2016. In addition to this, Krystle is a certified ‘Group Fitness Instructor’ with the American Council on Exercise.

Holly

Holly was born and raised in Puyallup, WA. Inspired by her grandfather, she loved running from an early age. Participation in youth run clubs and then cross country and track and field fueled her passion to move for the challenge and joy of it. That passion led her to Bastyr University, where she graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in ‘Nutrition and Exercise Science’. Holly is now an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C). She has a wide range of experience in one-on-one and group fitness settings. Holly’s personal and professional experience thus far has shaped an approach toward fitness that emphasizes movement that feels good, cultivation of the mind-body connection, and continuous exploration of the many amazing things our bodies can do, all from an evidence-based foundation. From its origins in running, her own continuous exploration of movement has included yoga, slacklining, indoor bouldering, rock climbing, and hiking.  As a trainer, Holly values the opportunity to be a part of each person’s journey and strives to hold space for both the joy and challenges that come with any worthwhile endeavor.  

Michelle

Michelle Sandsmark was born and raised in Issaquah where she developed a love for movement through competitive dance and cheerleading. While attending college at the University of Hawaii; she started to crave a different kind of movement and turned to Yoga to fill the void. Practicing since 2011, and certified in 2015 she has taught over 1000 classes. While mostly teaching Vinyasa yoga she is also versed in restorative, power, and fit-flow. She is a firm believer in the magic that Yoga can bring you through the connection of mind, body, and breath and can’t wait to meet you and empower you with tools to make your day the very best it can be.
